Every hour you lock in — studying, lifting, running, building — is scored. Your rank is public to your friends, your campfire, and your school. So is theirs.
Illustrative standings — Season 1 has not started yet.
The name
Φph Ιi Λl Οo Ιi
φίλοι · fee-loy · Ancient Greek
“close friends bound by trust, affection, and shared effort”
Shared effort is the last third of that definition and the whole of the app. The name was the spec before there was a spec.
The gathering place — marketplace, forum, cultural heart. In Philoi it is the feed, where a win gets an audience instead of a private notification to three people.
The root the name grows from: the bond between equals who make each other better. Not the friendship of convenience — the one with effort in it.
Past Diamond the ladder leaves the mortal climb and enters the realm of legend. Hero, Titan, Olympian, Immortal — four tiers most people never see.
First-born — the beings that came before the gods. It is the apex tier, and the only one with no divisions to climb through. You are Primordial or you are not.
The five rungs stamped on every discipline relic. α is the day you started. Ω is the last one the ladder has.
The climb
Ten tiers, thirty divisions. Everyone starts in Bronze. Every hour you lock in forges you up the ladder — and past Diamond you leave the mortal climb behind. Almost nobody reaches Primordial. That is the point.

Primordial
Bronze fills bronze. Diamond fills teal. Your rank is not a number in a settings screen — it is the colour of every bar you look at all day.
Each tier splits three ways, so the climb always has a next step. Primordial has no divisions. You are either there or you are not.
Promotions land as a full-screen forge reveal, then a share card your campfire actually sees. Getting there is half of it. Them seeing it is the other half.
Relics
One relic per discipline, and it upgrades as you do — α through Ω, uncommon up to mythic. Not a badge you collect. A record of what you actually did, sitting on your profile where everyone can read it.
Study
The unexamined hour isn’t worth logging. You examined a hundred.
Gym / Lift
Twelve labours. You’re somewhere past the seventh — and it shows.
Movement
He crossed 414 km on foot to call for help. You have matched every step.
Deep work
The labyrinth wasn’t built in a day. Neither is whatever you’re making.
Meditate
The Oracle spoke only in the quiet. You have kept a great deal of it.
Mythic · all five, maxed
Master of no single art, but of the discipline beneath all of them. Olympus has a seat for that.
🔒 And the ones nobody has a checklist for — secret relics, found, not given.
Cosmetics
Flares that aura the whole app while you’re locked in. Halos, banners, profile cards, flame skins, sound effects. Earned from the climb, pulled from crates, or forged out of duplicates — and every one of them is visible to everybody who opens your profile.
Flare · app-wide aura
Odds are shown in-app, before you spend anything.
Campfires
A campfire is private — your people, no strangers, no algorithm. Everyone’s fire lights up in real time when they lock in, and goes cold when they don’t. It flies its own banner, keeps its own streak, and prestiges when the group holds the line together.
Hold the campfire streak long enough and the whole fire prestiges — a permanent mark on the campfire, earned by the group, not by one person carrying it.
Challenges
Put it on the line. Pick a metric, pick a window, and the app scores it live — no honour system, no arguing about it after. The harder the challenge, the bigger the payout.
Winner takes 900 embers + the bragging rights, posted to the campfire.
Head to head on one metric. Hours, distance, volume, lock-ins — whatever you both agreed to.
The whole campfire chases one target together. Everyone who contributed gets paid.
Same window, individual standings. Top finishers take the bigger cut of the pot.
Two sides, one scorekeeper reports the final, and both rosters get rewarded off the result.
For clubs & teams
Intramural teams, varsity clubs, study societies, fraternities and sororities — anywhere attendance is the whole problem. Philoi gives you a private space, a season-long structure, and a leaderboard your members actually open.
Invite-only. Members see each other train in real time — nobody else does.
Set a target for the term — sessions, hours, distance, volume — and let it score itself.
One scorekeeper reports the final. Both rosters get credited and rewarded off it — no spreadsheet.
Ranks, streaks and standings your exec can point at in the group chat on a Sunday night.
Pilots for Season 1 are set up by hand, free, one campus at a time.
